Great start... but why did it have to be sticks?

Ugh. Sticks... AGAIN.

Let me just say this - it's a great movie. It would be my pleasure to give it full marks and a place on my favourites list if it weren't for that fact that it's a sodding stickman flash.

OK, they're easy to animate and require half as many frames. They're easier to draw. But they're still a cop-out. I do concede that you've managed to give them more personality than most, but they still all look alike - there are times when I had a hard job telling who was who.

It's a real shame, because this movie would be so great if it was done properly. But now it's 'just another stick Flash' - something that there's already far too much of on Newgrounds.

EXTREMELY impressive.

Can't wait to see it finished. This shows a lot of promise.

An interesting look at things to come

OK. I'm not going to be harsh or evil here.

I can see you're trying really hard. Honestly, you get a 10 for effort. Some elements really need work - the fire, like other people have said, is the first thing that jumps out at me. Also, you might wanna check up on perspective - the house is viewed isometrically, like in Command and Conquer or something, but what it should really be doing is getting smaller as it goes away from us. There are some good tuts on the web that'll give you an idea of what to do.

You might wanna try cleaning up your figure drawing as well. It shows a hell of a lot of promise, but it looks a little... I dunno, off.

But I can see that you're showing a lot of promise. Keep it up, and you'll improve the more you do.

A review, you say?

Quite simply superb. Very well done. I can't think of a single thing wrong with it.

OK animation, but I don't really get it.

This was OK I guess. A good attempt, and quite a bit better than a lot of what I've seen here on Newgrounds. But the character design was a bit off; they didn't always look the same from scene to scene (especially the rabbit, who looks more like a rat in some sequences) and, like others have said, it's kinda random.

The ATB scene didn't fit with the rest of the movie, and the timing could have used some improvement - although that could be to do with all the different pieces of music (some of which didn't sit well side by side). Oh, and the spelling needs work (but seeing as you appear to be German, I'll let that slide).

But, to avoid being excessively negative, I'll give a few thumbs up - the style was fairly clean and seemed to suit the subject matter. There were a few neat little touches, even if they didn't always make sense. The presentation was good. Tighten it all up for your next one, and you'll be an author to keep an eye on.

The best Brackenwood so far

Wow.

Adam, you are probably the best Flash animator around at the moment. How the hack did you do those water effects? Simply breathtaking. This is going straight to the top of my favourites list.

Wow.

What can I say? Great graphics, great sound, interesting story... a very promising series indeed. I'm really looking forward to the next one.

Woo and Yay

Another great Flash anim, Jonti. Truly you are getting better and better with each one.

"'Woo and Yay!' cried Belle and Bill."

OK for a first draft....

It was.... OK I guess. You really need some sound in there. It actually detracts from the movie with its absence.

And the art style is OK I guess.... but there's some anatomy work that needs doing if you're gonna draw muscly arms and legs like that (although it's by no means the worst I've seen on Newgrounds).

Polish it up a bit, get some sound (and a bit more colour in there) and you'll get a much better score next time.
